I just posted a quick list of some of my long-term goals. I’m going to try to pull some of the more tractable one, or first steps for bigger ones, into the 101 things list. You comments are welcome!

Playstation 3 Dilemma
So I wandered into the local Best Buy — half looking for Clerks 2, and half looking for a Nintendo Wii — and walked out with a 60GB Playstation 3. I can probably eBay it for a couple hundred in profit, or Craigslist it for somewhat less, or I can just keep it and enjoy …
Long time, no post
I admit it, I’ve been slacking. Not just with posting, but in general. Hopefully this post will signal the beginning of a more active period overall. There’s plenty I’ve been meaning to post about, and hopefully you’ll hear about some of these things and ideas in the coming days: Building a HD MythTV system Zen …
Of Lightning Strikes and Motorcycles
It was a long weekend. Thursday night the torrential downpours brought with them a lovely spate of lightning; which in turn struck the oak tree just in front of my house. I have nothing against Evangelicals
What I am opposed to are people that belong to a political party because of single-issue politics, “other-side is evil”, or “my parents were *, so I am too”. Faisal linked to a great article that sums up some of the reasons that I’m opposed to the current republican party, “When Would Jesus Bolt?“. I’m …

My last exam…
Oddly enough the last exam I will probably ever take was called a “preliminary” exam. Anyway, as of yesterday, August 4, 2006, I passed my preliminary exam and advanced to candidacy. I am officially a ful doctoral candidate! 🙂 Now back to your regularly scheduled life.
